Horseback Riding

Southern Rhode Island is laced with horseback riding trails, even on some beaches

South County of Rhode Island embraces a variety of natural settings, from rocky or sandy beaches to interior forests and nature preserves. Horseback riding trails can be found and enjoyed in all of these settings. Acadia State Management Area in West Greenwich is an undeveloped woodland with many trails. Equestrians also can find trails near beaches in and around the southern town of Charlestown and in Burlingame Management Area. Horseback riders are a common sight and other trail users are accustomed to sharing the paths.
