The South County region of Rhode Island is awash in a variety of water bodies, including the Atlantic Ocean, Narragansett Bay, the Ningret Pond, and numerous inland ponds and streams. All of this, combined with a multitude of small-boat launches, makes South County a glorious place for paddling a canoe, kayak, or other small craft. In addition to Ninigret Pond, an inland saltwater pond created by a breach in a barrier island, the Narrow River in Narragansett is a unique and inspiring place to explore by canoe or kayak or other car-top vessel.
