City celebrates in style with a host of arts, cultural and holiday festivals
Providence, RI just loves to celebrate, which is why the area’s calendar is filled with festivals. One of the most exciting is WaterFire, a series of nearly 100 bonfires on three rivers downtown, held in August, September and November. There’s the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular along the wooded walkways of the Roger Williams Park Zoo in October, the Rhode Island Comic Con in November, holiday festivals in December. June is the month for the PrideFest and Parade, with bar and club events and a nighttime illuminated parade. September means PVDFest, the area’s signature arts festival. April means Pizza Week; July means a glorious Fourth festival featuring an outdoor pops concert. There are restaurant weeks, film festivals and so much more.
